Hi,

I hope everyone had a great holiday.

So I took some time off from the festivities this week to look up some more details involved when looking for or purchasing an engagement ring. I came across a few blogs about relationships and making that long term commitment, and there were a few people talking about engagement/wedding rings and  how they had gone with another metal. They went on about how it became such a hassle to keep getting the metal re-plated because it would start to lose its color. Some people ended up just getting new rings after years of marriage. Thats definitely something I hope I don't have to deal with.

I also came across this video which I found to be really helpful.

Have a safe and happy new year.

the search continues...

Hey,

So over the weekend I went to a few different stores looking for "the ring." Like I mentioned before I've definitely been doing my research when it comes to getting this ring because I want it to be perfect, being that she will (hopefully) be wearing it forever.

Here are a few more things I found out about platinum. Its 30 times more rare than gold, its purer that other metals which basically means that you get more precious metal for your money. So even if it is more expensive you're getting something almost 95% pure, and it has a lifetime quality because the material is so enduring.

I really think my girlfriend is going to enjoy the fact that its going to represent the enduring love I have for her.

Hey everyone!

Alright so I thought I would start this blog so I could share the journey that it has been looking for an engagement ring.

I've been with my girlfriend Amy for about 5 years now, she's everything I've ever wanted and more. I know that this is the person that I want to spend the rest of my life with. I'm planning on proposing to her at the end of January on the anniversary of the day we met. For the past few months I've been looking for a ring. I looked for something that would reflect her beauty and something that I know she would love and wear forever.

I did a lot of research especially when it came to what material to have the ring set in. I read up on a lot of different facts when it came to the different materials. They're all so different, and do end up making a huge difference. I finally decided to go with a platinum setting. Platinum really caught my eye, even though it is a little more expensive, its worth it. Here's what really stood out to me, Platinum is naturally white so it doesn't need to be re-plated like other materials. It's also a lot stronger than other materials which means that it will hold the stones more securely.

I still haven't gone out and gotten the ring but I know exactly what its going to look like, and I've visited a few different places. I've held back in buying the ring right away because I know that if I have it I'm going to want to propose right away. I want to wait until the moment is almost perfect.
